Hi, Just wondering would anyone know an approximate colour of the restored sliabh na mban, it looks blue, but i believe its a grey. regards Paul

It's a dark grey now, similar to German Grey (WWII) But this is not the original colour! It was likely green, perhaps the same as British Army RR's at the time but some photos show a secondary green applied over this. It is suggested this could be a form of olive drab, or even a dark green.
If memory serves me correct these vehicles were originally purchased for Airfield protection by the RAF & may even have been originally painted an Emerald green colour similiar to the green applied to Trains at the Inchicore works..
If your really interested in the accuracy ill go & do some homework for ya ;)

Be carefully about scratching bits of paint off that vehicle Mr Kinsella,it's a National Treasure, not unlike Terry Wogan and you wouldn't,t scratch his paintwork. Regards
