Hi guys,
I was at todays meet in Dublin where I found out that I couldn't make the December meet/drink in on the Saturday before christmas because I will be visiting family in the UK that weekend.
Without wanting to steal thunder or hijack what will be a fun day,if anyone fancies a break from the festivities to chat/brag about pressies etc between christmas and new year let me know and we can try and meet up for a few jars in the afternoon/lunch time. Doesn't even need to be Dublin.

Great idea - I'm sure up for it, and I guess others will be also......
I'm thinking that we will be all a bit bored after the excesses of Christmas, so let's pencil in a day between St Stephen's Day and New Year's Eve.
Any preferences guys? Somewhere in Dublin city centre would be best, so we can hop on up to the various LMS's and see what they have on sale (while significant others use the excuse to go to the sales in different kinds of shops?)

I'll be about too. Won't be bragging about kits as my family usually buy me gifts that they consider to be useful :(

Top job guys. I'll be available any day between Stephens and new year, as I will be off work that week.

Handy getting book vouchers considering the number of references this hobby can need.
Shall we say Wednesday afternoon, bout 1? Somewhere convenient for all?

Wednesday 28th Dec? Sounds fine to me. The usual gathering place is the micro-brewery on Parliament St (just across the road from the Turks Head). Good pints.....Let's say 1 pm (that will give us time to descend on Walshie)
I'll mention it to the guys at the next meeting of the Dublin Chapter on the 17th. (Sorry you can't make it then).
Have a happy one!
Cheers,
Philip

I won't be able to make it I'm afraid, I'll be away until after New Years. Have fun though and definitely try their burgers, very worth it.

WELL.....
A couple of stalwarts turned up about 1 pm, as promised - Pat (sans Ork), Paul, Andy (fresh from his purchase of a 1:24th Stuka - that's one BIG plane!), and myself. We were delighted to meet up with Dave Wallace, who was over from Wallasey for a couple of days for family reasons, and managed to come down to Dublin. Also in the micro-brewery were Steve and his family, together with a couple of friends from the US. Steve dropped up with daughter to say hello. Great to see you Steve!
We had some beers and food, talked models, history, politics, the economy, Christmas and a lot more, and got out at about 4 pm - just in time to descend on Marks Models for a quick lookaround. (I think Andy bought something....).
Happy modelling New Year to all!
Philip

Was great to meet up. And indeed Andy bought something, which was nothing more than very expensive Tamiya sanding sheets, but they are supposed to be non clog, so hopefully they will be fine.
