Hi,
This maybe old news but in case it isn't I came across a shop in the Crescent Shopping center which had a goodly stock of Revell and Airfix.
It is called "Art & Hobby" Unit 3 in the SC., phone # 061-309757. I would have walked past it only that a Revell A400M in the window caught my eye! and they had at least 2 kits.
Paintwise - mainly Citadel but they also had a three tiered stand with some Humbrol enamel.
Talking to one of the sales assistants, who told me that they don't pick the paints (replacements) "the Rep does all that". It seems that this is the regular way Humbrol stock shops!
It seems counter-productive to be selling/stocking shops with lots of kits, and the shop customer base is, to judge by the rest of the stock, mainly kids, and then selling evil smelling enamel paint and not Acrylics.
Anyone in the Limerick/Shannon region that shops there, it might be useful to stick the head in every so often.
I gather one of the staff is also a modeller!!

Yep, Art & Hobby can be very useful, there's one near me too. As well as the kits / paints, they also have some Citadel bits and pieces, like tools, washes etc.

And they also have more paint brushes than you can shake a stick at, and lots of other handy items. I got my Acrylic Flow Improver and Matt Varnish there as well...

I know that Art and Hobby shop in the Crescent. Apparently they opened another brance on O'Connell Street in Limerick (opposite Todds) before Christmas.

It carries the basic Airfix and Revell range, which is fine if you want a 1/72 spirtfire, but their selection is not a patch on the Gathering just off the top of William Street (on the street with all the funeral homes- but that, I'm told, is purely coincidental!).

The Gathering stock a really wide selection of both Armour and Aircraft, including Trumpeter, Academy, Pegesus, AFV, Zvelda etc. etc. and you'll always find some really interesting model in there that you won't in the Art and Hobby shop (unless of course, you always wanted a 1/72 Mk 1 Spitfire!).

Thanks for the info, sounds like an ok shop too especially as it has the Revell A400M in stock. I'm still waiting on Marks Models to get this beauty in stock... I've poor George pestered about it! Can't wait!

Vinny I "think" it was priced ca EUR54. As the kit was too big for me I didn't pay too much attention to the price.
