Nearly there....

Props, rudders, rigging and stanchions added. Just need to add the "rope" along the railings...

One more session should see it complete.

Thanks for watching
Sean

Getting there... hopefully you'll replace that 'poitically correct' flag with some proper one over time, it really stands out on the otherwise nice model.

Thanks John and yes I did enjoy it. Very pleased with how it turned out.

Thanks Filip. Heah I really should fix up the flag. I don't supose anyone has 2 spare swastika decals that measure about 5mm sq?

Cheers

Try to search for Kriegsmarine flag on uncle Gooogle, save yourself a hassle and get printed flag off some online shop

Hi Sean,

If you're stuck, I have a 1/144 - 1/72 Swastika Decal Sheet, which has numerous sizes. I got it to see if I could adjust the Flag on my 1:144 U-Boat. The smallest Swastikas are about 2mm square, so I should easily have something in the size you want. I could bring the sheet to the next Dublin Meeting and we can find you a few that should fit? Let me know...

J.

Thanks Jason I might take you up on that but not sure yet if I'll make the meeting next week.

Thanks Alan....practice makes nearly perfect!

Spent last night putting on the railings with threat....a laborious job!
Just one bit left and it's the bit I'm actually most afraid of. It needs a pin-wash along the line down the length of the hull: above, below and in the groove....and I never get a wash to come out right!

Wash is easy, a small blob of oil paint/s of required colour mixed in white spirit to make it very watery and transparent liquid. You can alway add oil if it's not opaque enough... Then run it along the ridge with the help of 000 brush.
If it's too transparent add another layer, if it's too opaque blend it in with clean brush dipped in white spirit. Nothing to be affraid of, what could happen?

That's turned out really nice Sean - weathering looks spot on.

Great to see them side by side too.

Dermot
