I like the KLM, the blue looks great. If I was building the C-17 I would not build it as a big grey aircraft, as most people. RAF/USAF... all look alike

Uh oh! Looks like you were a little too heavy with the sanding. You should have masked the windows prior to applying the fillers as that will protect them in case you go over them with the sandpaper. Use very small amounts of filler around windows and remove it using very small strokes to avoid the windows. Don't forget to sand out all that filler you have on the nose... and watch those seam lines especially on the leading edges. That was my Qatar C-17 ( as seen here) that you saw. Yes, I did use a decal for the windows as I thought the shape looked wrong on the kit when I had them masked up. The plan was to have the windows clear so behind that decal is a fully painted flightdeck that no one will ever see. I don't have a spare decal so I can't help you out but maybe ask on other forums as there's got to be some not used out there. You'll get one if you decide to go with a draw decal sheet. I'm not a fan of "Flight of Fancy" schemes but I'd go for the TNT scheme All over grey can be as drab as you want it to be. I know of one modeller who just likes to spray grey aircraft with just Halfords primer and leaves it at that. Well, that is very boring but you can do a lot with grey. My next C-17 will be a RAF aircraft and even though they're pretty clean in reality, I'll be using a combination of pre-shading, post-shading and a panel wash to add depth to the grey and bring the model to life. Check this one out... it's a little over done on the shading but you get the idea of what you can actually do with grey so it doesn't look dull. So grey doesn't have to be drab but it does require a little more effort to bring to life.
