Hi guys, updates will be placed here in regards to Scalemodel World at Telford 2009.

Now, as we are IPMS:Ireland, we are now considered as an Overseas IPMS. This has a slight effect on how we display (moved to a different area of the hall) and also in gaining admittance. Please see below as posted on the IPMS:UK website:

All Overseas Tickets for SMW 2009 are Pre-booked for Collection Only

Friday
For those who will be involved in setting up the display:
You may collect your tickets from Hall 2 Overseas Section on Friday November 6th from 12.30 hrs till close of show for set up on Friday. On arriving at SMW 2009 on Friday November 6th, make your way to Hall 2 Overseas Section via Hall 2 Setting up / Traders Entrance. You must contact the Overseas Liaison Officer for issue of your tickets(s).

NOTE – The Overseas Liaison Officer may not be at the collection point when you arrive, please be patient, we have a lot to do on the setup day.

Due to Health and Safety reasons, no one under the age of 18 is allowed in the hall on Friday. A valid IPMS card must be shown for issue of al Overseas Members Tickets.

Saturday 0800hrs until 0845 hrs

You may collect your ticket(s) from the Overseas Section via Setting up / Traders Entrance in Hall 2 from approximately 08:00 hrs until approximately 08.45 hrs when this entrance will CLOSE. Note - the close time may change on the day. If the Hall 2 entrance is closed, please make your way to SMW 2009 Main Entrance.

Due to Health and Safety reasons, no one under the age of 18 is allowed in the hall on Saturday until 09:00 HRS. Hall 3 has been designated as a holding area.

Saturday 09:15 hrs

All tickets will be issued at the designated IPMS OVERSEAS Entrance in the SMW 2009 Main Entrance. A valid IPMS card must be shown for issue of all Overseas Members Tickets.

Sunday 09:00 hrs
All tickets will be issued at the designated IPMS Overseas Entrance in the SMW 2009 Main Entrance
.
Due to Health and Safety reasons, no one under the age of 18 is allowed in the halls until 0900hrs. A valid IPMS card must be shown for issue of a Free Overseas Members Ticket

Non IPMS Overseas Visitors to SMW - There will be no free tickets of any type issued to Non IPMS Overseas visitors. You have to purchase public tickets from the SMW Main Public Entrance during public show opening times. Non IPMS Overseas Visitors will not be allowed access to the show on Friday and before 10.00hrs on Saturday / Sunday for any purpose.

Competition Registration Does Not Include SMW Entry...

Competition entries must only be sent to the Competition Secretary only by the date given.
Do not send to the Overseas Liaison / Treasurer or SMW 2009 Show Manager for any reason.
See competition section of SMW 2009 on the IPMS (UK) web page for full details

Clarification of entry to the competition will be uploaded here in a day or so as I am awaiting some clarification on the above from the Overseas Liasion Officer.
Aslo, I do not think the above applies to those of you who are IPMS:UK as well, just flash the IPMS:UK card and you'll be able to get in as normal.

Hi Guys:
Update on the Scalemodel World entrance for IPMS:Ireland members:

No you do not have to give members names/ numbers of attending as this year no pre-booking.
You can get in from about 13.00 hrs on Friday till 19.30 hrs via hall 2 entrance.

Sat 7.30 onwards via hall 2 entrance then after 8.45 via main door. You need to have your stand set up by 9.45 hrs on Sat.

Each member will have to get their own ticket when they arrive. If IPMS (UK) they will already have one, ie their membership card will have SMW 2009 on the back. This is their pass into the show. IPMS: Ireland-only members will need to get a ticket from the said place according to time they arrive. A valid IPMS:Ireland card is needed to get a free ticket.

If IPMS (UK) members membership card does not have SMW 2009 on back then they are out of date and need to wait to renew membership and get a new card. Hope this helps.
See you
Paul

So what this means is that if you are going as only an IPMS:Ireland member, you need a valid IPMS:Ireland membership card to get your ticket for free entry into SMW2009.

If you are going as IPMS (UK) members (as some of you are members of both organisations), your IPMS(UK) membership card MUST have SMW2009 stamped on the back to gain free admission.
Entry for the competition is as usual.

Ps, I received my IPMS:UK mag yesterday and it contains the entry form for SMW 2009 as well asa full list of categories and definitions.

Hi All

With regard to SMW 09 @ Telford in just less than 5 weeks time,
how many people are heading over and is any one bringing any
models for display on the IPMS Ireland table?
Just wondering.

Unfortunately, I am caught with a work-related thing that I can't get out of, so won't be able to go this year. The next Dublin Chapter meeting on 17th October will be discussing who is going from our neck of the woods - I expect that some will be (there was talk of a van going over with some folks.....). Will PM you to let you know if this is the case after our meeting.

Hi Guys,

I'd like to know as well, who is planning to go. Several reasons.

1; How much stuff we will have to display, and how much space we need.
2; How many are going to be able to man the stand.
3; I am planning to fly from Cork, and was hoping to share a cab with a few others to go direct from Birmingham to Telford. As more and more are saying they are not going, this is becoming more difficult. A cab shared between 3 or 4 works out as cheap as (and more convienent than) the train.

This space is for rent.

Hi Roy & Liam and all.

I will be there, I'm planing on going down on the Friday to set up my SIG table, I can bring a few models along, to fill some space. I don't know if I'll have as much time to stand behind the stand as it were, as I did last year, as I'll be flying the flag for the SIG, but if I can you know I will! I'm looking forward to seeing you all again.

I have had to cancel my trip to Telford this year. There are some personal matters that need to be attended to and work is causing problems, so I had to offer up the time I had booked 6 mths ago to go to Telford. We are attempting to arrange to have a car load of models shipped over to fill the table, but a few extra bodies, even if they are day-trippers who can hang at the table for a hour or so during the day would be appreciated, to relieve the guys who will be there for the entire weekend.

Last call.......

Hi all,

Group email also being sent on this, so apologies if I am repeating myself to you. Just making sure I haven't missed anyone. Reply to the email if you got one, reply here if you didn't..

I need to know who is going to Telford, who is going for one day, and who is going for 2 days, who is bringing stuff for the table, and who isn't. So please respond asap (even if you told me already!) with a yea or nea, and Sat/Sun or both; and what you wish to display. We'll make room for everyone. As advised, IPMS Ireland \membership cards will get you in, but only in conjunction with a pass issued by IPMS UK on the day. Hence, I need to know in advance o

I'm also organising a rota for manning the table. This will be flexible, but everyone is expected to give a little time, so no-one gets landed and we all have time to spend loadsa yo-yos.... Hopefully, if we have enough bodies, no one will be required for a maximum of more than one hour.

Cheers for now,
Roy
