I had a great time hanging with you guys today...
good meeting and great group of people...

Thanks for letting me show the fun of epoxy putty...
Hope everyone can find a fun use for it...

and here is the place to get the Kneadatite Epoxy Putty (blue and yellow)
that should be alot better value than the Games Workshop "Green Stuff"

http://www.sylmasta.com/acatalog/Creative_Kneadatite_Putties.html

They also sell casting supplies, Cyan Acrylate Glues, super fine sandpapers and tools etc etc...

http://www.sylmasta.com/

This is the first video I saw and got me started
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cOJkUpDe90Q

Also I think it was Pat that brought up green stuff molds
I forgot to mention it, here is a youtube link showing that by making a duplicate wheel...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YwzJkE2gKhA

there are tons of other videos on you tube, mostly war gamers doing all kinds of conversions
and making things like chains, fur/hair, patches and infected skin on vehicles...

Here is the liquid Green Stuff Filler that is a water based alternative to "mr surfacer"
I found it and the washes in Art & Hobby Shop in GW paint display rack.

Received my Epoxy putt order from Sylmasta

36 inches of kneadatite blue and yellow 7.35 pounds (8.75 euro) + VAT and Shipping
compared to
8 inches of games workshop green stuff (blue and yellow) 9 euros

definatly a better value

I guess that is why there are so many videos like this
GW charges too much...

Thanks for the demo on Saturday Steve - was excellent and gave me lots of ideas for how to use that stuff.

Thanks for the links too, which will give me something to watch over Christmas!

Cheers,

Dermot

Steve

many thanks for the demo. I never knew how much can be made from a little bit of putty!

I agree with Dermot - those links will keep me busy over the Christmas.

Edit:- Here are a couple of further photos of the Chapter meeting, just added.

Steve in full flight/explanation:-

Rapt attention from some of the participants (Tony and Don):-

A general view of the folks in attendance (Dermot, Simon, Sean, Roy, Don, Steve, Pat, Jason and Tony):-

(sorry about the flash from Roy's jacket - he's a careful motorbiker, so he is!)

Some of the many things that Steve had made, as examples:

But the putty can also be used, and combined, into a figure - in this case a 1950's style robot:-

As mentioned earlier, Pat brought along his orc figure bust, which had developed some armour since we last saw him, here on
the forum (from pure copper, so we were told!).

Hopefully, this will be entered in competition at the IMSS show in May, and at our own Nationals in September, where it should get due
recognition, IMHO.

Also worthy of recognition is Sean's Mustang in Chinese Nationalist colours, which some of us had seen at ALSAA:-

GREAT weathering there, Sean!

Jason brought along his current work in progress - one of the crazier creations from Blomm und Voss (and not a Luft '46 paper
project either - it actually flew, I believe!)

Don't forget that we will be repeating the event (the beer and burgers, not the demo) at 1 pm on December 28th in the micro-brewery on Parliament Street.

Happy modelling Christmas!

Philip

Glad everyone liked the putty, I think it is only limited by our imagination...

I am gonna buy some casting stuff soon and would be happy to give a little demo on that too once I get a little practice with the resins available here. I am gonna duplicate some of the stuff I made with the putty...

See you guys at january meeting

steve

After seeing the Liquid Green Stuff I'll probably pick up a couple of pots, it looks like it'll come in very useful.

Chief, I usually drive up to Bray from Ashford and get the dart from Bray to Tara Street. Not sure where you are, but you are welcome to join me.
