Hi all,

only a week back before I get to get on here. Had a great weekend, the show was superb, spent loads on attic insulation and accesories, and met up with some old friends and new members!

Here are a few of my pics, didn't see half of what was on show and photographed even less. You really need more than two days to see everything there....

These are a few that caught my eye...

A lovely Comet in 1/72. This was a conversion from the Airfix Nimrod! (and no aftermarket used either!)

For comparison, here is an OOB Nimrod.

another Airfix kit modified, this time the Chipmunk.

a lovely pair of USN birds in the competition, a disgrace that they didn't win anything (IMHO...Whistle )

The Phantom in this pic did however win a prize.

Some naughty ladies in 1/35

And I would love to know what these 2 were up to...

A stunning Kuznetsov in 1/700, and no oil slicks in sight.

Spot the pencil on the map on the navagators' table. 1/48!

Real Dalek, collecting for charity....

More soon!

Some Matchbox AFVs, all 1/76

I think Monty is shouting; "Where is my map gone? It was here on the table in the 1978 catalogue...."

Hard to believe these are 1/76, and pretty much OOB.

A couple of views of IPMS Ireland Table, and the neighbours...

A nice show of the variety of IPMS Ireland, despite the small number of models abe to travel.

One of our members also managed to convince an American that the Air Corps Eurofighter was a really-is rather than a what-if.

The Blue Halifax was very popular. As was the parentage of the Lancaster. Anyone?

My, the model Government Jet gets around almost as much as the real one.....

IPMS Austria. They like their Drakens (and naughty ladies...)

GZ! Lovely photos. Like the Comet.... and of course the other type of "models(!)" from Japan ...Shame on you Drool

The IPMS Ireland table looks well - you've done us proud.

Pity I had to miss it - looks like it was well worth the trip.

Lovely pics!
The Lancaster is mine. The kit is the Airfix kit with loads of resin and aftermarket decals. I remember rescribing it and it took forever. That particular Lanc was one that had 50 cals in top turret and the top turret was moved towards the cockpit about 4-6 ft I think. One of the reasons it looked a little bit different. The 50 cals are actually a cut up paper clip.

How long was that Phantom sitting on your shelf?

Congrats! Care to post a pic of the trophy?

More pictures, sorry not a wingy thing amongst them.

Yes that is 1/72nd scale!

It was a pleasure to meet you all and if I can help next year just ask.
Hopefully see you in Cork next April.
Oh and I posted the Air Corps Eurofighter on Irishmilitaryonline.
it drew some comment.

Hi Roy,

I have one of those 1/200 Magisters from Chris Sayer (Shed Models) and it will wear Celtic bosses one day. I've a few metal kits in that scale from Chris, Derek Barratt (Metalmodels), Wojtek Benzinski (Cloudbreak Models) and Nick Webb (Classic Airlines). Lovely little castings.

BTW, did anyone see the tiny but rigged model of the Handley-Page 0/400? It had a wingspan of about an inch. 1/800 scale or thereabouts?

Joseph
