Hi all,
Just thought id post a Figure Diorama/ Vignette Ive been working on for a while, not quite finished but almost there.

The setting is of course the famous Battle at Arnhem in Holland otherwise known as Operation Market Garden which involved the British 1st Airborne Division. I decided on two British Paras and a dead German Soldier depicting the fierce street fighting that took place in the town of Arnhem.

The Paras came from Scaleline Modelbeau in Holland, In this pic the kneeling para is taking cover behind a partially burnt out German Motorcycle & Sidecar, the burnt out affect was achieved with Mig Pigments Rust & Smoke Set, some copper wiring for the burnt Tyre threads and a piece of surgical gauze stretched to simulate a burnt out seat and again weathered with pigments.

The Para figure in the doorway's depicted taking cover from snipers, the burnt posters on either side of him were downloaded from the internet, printed and shaped to show a burnt ripped affect and the edges Dry Brushed Humbrol Sand & Matt Black.

The Flag drapped accross the dead german soldier was downloaded and printed form the net, soaked in Future Floor Polish and pressed into the Figure and when it dried weathered with drybrushed Matt Black and Mig Pigments.

This pic shows a long view of the Scene, showing the rubble which was made from Plaster and brickwork from the tamiya Brick wall set weathered using drybrushing and pigments, the building itself is from an old Verlinden set purchased years ago detailed with Door & Window Frames made from plasticard and broken glass from old aircraft kits broken up and glued into place.
As I said its not finished yet needs a bit more work and a nameplate done up and the Wooden Frame given a coat of varnish but an enjoyable little exercise.
Let me know what you think and as always all comments welcome.
Alan.
