As seen on other sites, I thought it might be good to start one here
I was sent out on a shopping trip today but had to make a bit of a deture to marks models in newcastle. While browsing around I picked up a tamiya scriber, some tamiya fine primer in a rattle can and some rod and tube by evergreen.
That's my lot for today.

Ah bugger... I was in Duncannon on Friday, and while I was there I was thinking to myself 'wasn't there something about models and Duncannon?'. Is there a shop down there? J. On the bench - Revell 1:72 F-16B

Jason The annual Military vehicle and re-enactors show was on over the Saturday and Sunday of the BH weekend in the old fort at Duncannon. I went down for the day on Sunday and we had a great day between seeing the sites in the Fort and spending the rest of the day on the beach.
Unfortunately there is no model related shop that I am aware of in Duncannon, but Paul Walsh from Dublin was down there for the couple of days and had a few of his wares available.

Hi Vincent, Ah, that makes more sense, here was I thinking I was missing a model shop! Now I can just give out about the bad timing, I could have been there on Saturday instead! :) J. On the bench - Revell 1:72 F-16B

As much as I don't need more kits, I saw this on an auction on eBay this morning, took a chance on a bid & the auction ended tonight & I was successful So, for approx. €18 + shipping, I now have an Eduard 1:48 Fw190 D-9 Late Profipack Kit on its way to me. Very happy, I've wanted to try the Eduard ProfiPacks, and the Fw190, for a little while. There's a nice review of the kit here : Eduard 1:48 Fw190 D-9 LateIt'll be added to the stash, after the Hawks! J. On the bench - Revell 1:72 F-16B

I had to pick up another Airfix Buccaneer today as I brutally butchered the canopy on the kit I already have; canopies and I just don't seem to work together very well.
Sometime in the future I'll take the new kit, do it up as a Gulf War model and cover the canopy with a tarp. I imagine they often covered the canopies in the hot desert when not in use to keep them cool.

That's a shame about the canopy, but it sounds like you've a good plan for the spare Buccaneer anyhow! Did you visit Weston to have a look at the Buccaneer they have displayed / parked outside? J. On the bench - Revell 1:72 F-16B

It still could be used as a matrice for manufacturing of new vacformed one. Not as hard to do as many people think

No, I haven't been to Westin yet, it's a little out of the way for me but I'll get there one of these days. FiSe wrote:Do you still have the original canopy then? Is it somehow damaged or just messed up with paint?

Stopped into Banba/Toymaster at the back of Jervis St on the way to the Dublin meet today and got a Revell 1/72 Snowberry for a mere €80 I justify it to myself on the grounds it'll keep me happy and quiet for about 6 months....once I figure what AM sets I can afford....but this has been a grail kit of mine for years :d/

Today I got an Aoshima 1:24 DeLorean from Back To The Future (Part 1) The plan is to eventually collect all four and build them at the same time (for consistency reasons). Vinny "Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former."-Albert Einstein

I received an order I placed on the hlj website 2 weeks ago. I got a set of 1/24 19" oz wheels, some paint, taymia drill set and last but not least 1/48 Has f/a18c hornet. I got all this delivered for less than Hannants wanted for the hornet alone before delivery.
