Okay: The committee have received the requested report and we have been advised that it's okay to make an official announcement.

The IPMS Nationals 2012 will be held on September 15th/16th 2012 at the Atlantic Airventure Park in Shannon Co. Clare.

For the moment, that's all we can confirm but the staff at the Airventure park have something really REALLY special planned and we hope it'll all be in place in time for the show. Once they confirm, we'll let you all know. Check out their web-site http://www.atlanticairventure.com/

There are two hotels within walking distance, the Oakwood Arms and the Shannon Court Hotel and plenty of B and B's. Further out there are hotels and b and b's in Bunratty, Limerick, Newmarket-on-Fergus and Ennis.

We'll work up a list of bed and breakfast places in the immediate area and post them on the forum in due course.

Thanks to everyone on the committee for working so quickly to approve this.

Liam H

Great news and a nice venue.

Will the competition component be over the two days or just on the Sunday?

Cheers

I will have the Hurribomber done by new year I think. The Stuka is going to be quite scary though. I have something a little mad planned for it.

Oh. And I've booked in to the Oak Wood Arms for the weekend. I am also taking her indoors, as it is her b'day the following weekend.

Happy Birthday honey, I've booked you in to look at plastic. May need to work on that a bit.d'oh!

That's something which only time will tell. We'll try to get them in alrite, whether they'll turn up is another thing.

Just noticed the shopping centre nearby. Should keep her happy.

For a short while, Skycourt isn't very big but there's some shopping possibilities in Limerick City which is just down the road.

Think she's just planning on lying on the couch eating chocolate. Cheap date. But seriously guy's. Top job in getting date and venue pegged so soon.

You may and you are not the only one with such a question...

So again: we know where Shannon is and we know that there is an airport of some sort, or I presume most 'our' people do.
How many people abroad, who might be considering attendance on the event, actually, know what in the name of jeeebus Shannon is, where it is, or how to get there? Even my mother, who's been here a few times doesn't know that there is a place called Shannon and that there is an airport 30mins drive from our house...

BTW posted one of the working versions first, it's fixed now

Great poster and you're right, Shannon Airport is often overlooked or unknown.

I wonder if the airport or one of the companies there would fancy sponsoring a trophy?

Good thought AlcatrazLogan, and as there is a Flying boat prominent on the poster, a letter to the Museum at Foynes & we might get support also.
One thing I notice, and I know it is very early days yet, however there are no times on the poster. BTW it is a great poster and terrific job to have got it tied down so quick.
I assume that closer to the date there will be. I know silly.
d'oh!
