That's a great set of pictures you have there. Awesome selection of aircraft and sci-fi at Telford this year as well. Our display table was looking quite good as well.

Jason
I agree with Sean - that's a great selection of photographs you have there! Many thanks for posting them up so quickly.
I recognise a few from last year - like the "no hope" diorama of the Me 109 pilot (it was in the competition last year), and some of the sci-fi's. Nice to see the Millenium Falcon on display too.
The Tu-144D, I see, won a gold. Immaculate finish!
Love the diorama of the guys pulling the soviet lend-lease P-39 airacobra from the water - VERY realistic!
Our own stand looks well - with the bit of well-merited advertising for Aer Lingus. And not just Hawks....I recognise a few familiar and well-travelled kits there.
What was the club with the "invisibles" display - somebody with a great sense of humour......?
And it's really nice to see the B & V 141 - the old Airfix kit, no doubt. Brings us back to our youth!
Some good ideas, too, on how we might make our stand in 2012 more professional looking, with the tiered displays (like the us airforces of WW2 SIG one you have there)
Hope you had a great time!
Philip

My favourite has to be the Brown Water Navy diorama with the Huey on the barge.

Thanks Philip! Yep, I really enjoyed the day, an early start and lots of travelling but it was worth it. The 'No Hope' diorama is excellent, very well conceived and executed. The pic of the plane taking off from an aircraft carrier with some background behind it was also an excellent table, where they made classic kits and presented them like the box art! 'The Invisibles' was one of favourites as well, very cute, yet still very well made! The level of the competition was very impressive. If you consider that the TSR with panels open didn't win anything, and the Corsair 'only' got a commendation, you can see what I mean! The Fw-190 got Gold in that category, it was only 1:72!! ( all the aircraft mentioned here are in pics one after the other so you should be able to figure out which ones I mean! ). I was actually thinking the same thing, maybe some 'Tiers' next year ( just boxes under the table cloth of course! ) would literally add an extra dimension! You would have loved the Dioramas Sean, some excellent ones there! J. On the bench - Revell 1:72 F-16B

Great selection of photos there Jason and something for everybody. Thanks for posting so quickly. Some of the detail on those builds is unbelievable. The dioramas push the boundaries every year and some absolute gems there. The A-6 refueling was a nice idea too. Any surprises from the manufacturers? You're right Dermot, some of the ideas for dioramas and displays were just excellent! I must admit, between a restrictive budget and restrictive time scale, I only really focused on the builds and displays, and left the vendors fairly much alone, apart from collecting my order from Hannants pretty early! Jason, Terrific photos and thanks for posting them so fast. What inspiration and at the same time almost intimidating to see the quality of the work, especially on the 1:72 scale. Well done to the team, the table looked very well, and the Hawks travelled equally well, thanks to Aer Lingus and the packers. I just have to get there next year!

Well, in no particular order, F-16, A-10, Mi-24 and the airacobra diorama, would be my pick of the bunch there, although to be honest, they are nearly all excellent.
How do you eat an elephant.... ....start at one end and keep chewing.
On the bench: 1/24 Airfix Bf109 E OOB 1/24 Trumpeter Hurricane IIc, most definitely not OOB.
In the wings: Trumpeter Hurricane MkI, BoB in flight versus Airfix B2 Stuka, 1/24 dogfight double.
