Hello to all
My main interest is pre 1924 Irish military vehicles,, including the Easter rising, Irish war of independance and the Irish civil war. I have set up a blog page on the military vehicles used in this period which cover the Jeffery quad armoured car, the armoured Lancia, the railway corps and the 1916 Guinness armoured lorrys, I intend to add more vehicles to the blog in the future.

I have dabbled in the past in 1/76 and 1/35 mostly British soft skin and armoured cars WW1, WW2......

WELCOME!

Another Kildare resident. By my count that makes six of us!

Perhaps we should organise a new branch? It could
be called the Lilywhites Branch Whistle

Hi Vintary,

Welcome to IPMS. I've only recently joined myself.
I to am an armour fan. I've a long term project in mind for 2016 so I will be in touch for some advice.

Philip, you counting me in the six or do I make it seven--The Magnificent Seven.
I'm a Dub living in Maynooth so Lillywhite doesn't sit too well with me!!!!!!!!

Don.

Don - you are right, that makes seven! (whether we are magnificent or not, I wouldn't like to say.....)

As another Dub living in the horsey county, I know what you mean. Lilywhites don't do it for me either. I'm sure we can think of another name..
(the idea of a Kildare branch is said with tongue placed firmly in cheek....well maybe....)

Perhaps Woolly Wonders would be a good name on account of all the sheep down there?

Besides, what would Dublin become if you all left?

Sean - who says we would leave? Kildare, after all, is in the GREATER Dublin area. As a Dub (albeit one living in the Greater Dublin area), I could never leave the Dublin Chapter....of course.

We could have two branch meets in a month.....more chances to look at peoples' great work, discuss techniques etc etc....

Philip

Anyhow, there are more Dubs in Kildare at this stage than there are sheep...or horses for that matter.

Welcome aboard!

Always great to see a fellow Irish armour modeller, especially one with such an interesting theme!
Would love to see any work you might have sometime in the future, no pressure!

Roy :)

Ah now Filip, go easy - many of us Dubs are living in Kildare because Dublin got filled up with culchies.....But we work in Dublin, so have no choice but to commute.

Anyhow, it's not the area that produces the rat race, it's the rats! And one can meet rats anywhere, even in (or perhaps especially in) rural areas (present company excepted, of course!)

Firing insults around is a great way to not welcome a new member.

Either stay on topic and keep your personal prejudices to yourselves or take them elsewhere.
