Hi All,

Gonna Jump in here with the latest from Rebel HQ, Cork Section. I managed to remember to bring the camera in for once so heres a few photos.

We had a suprise demo of Weathering using graphite from pencils from the dashing Steve Culliton at the start.

Following that up was a Demo on tackling those Awkward seam lines on those Tamiya Canopies which need a three part mould to form the complex shape. This was done by Vincy ' The Hair' Russell. How just does he see though that mop!!, The Shampoo bill must be awesome.

Also we had a Zero and Jap Tank in Attendance for the Pearl Harbour anniversary, Jap Subjects dont seem to be that Popular, mind you there was no oppostion either and Roy had his space shuttle but I got no shots of that.

Here's and interesting Comparison between the Matchbox Zero and the New Airfix one.

And a spitfire from Meself.

And a Mirage F.1 From Roderick Built in an amazing 2 hours.

New models were on show for review also.

A few fellows enjoying themselves at the evening before teas n coffees and cup cakes were served.

Our polish member studying for his next purchase, look out for the Tamiya 1/32 P-51 from Bob!!

Jimmy 'Gas' quinn being bold and not paying attention.

Roy is refusing to have his nails buffed.

Anyway this meeting wraps up 2011, Thanks for all the people coming along and making it a success. The next meeting will be on the last Saturday of Jan. Keep an eye here, Marks Cork Facebook Page and Roy will keep ye informed via text.

For 2012 we decided to keep things simple and have a group build for any model bought anywhere for under a Tennor in any Currency. Progress to be seen in Jan and completion in Feb 11, Hopefully we will be able to try some different thing from our usual subjects. Maybe someone will start a topic on same, I'm thinking of a Jet provost T.5, I'd never get the Vimy Jim bought me done in 3 months!!!

We need to see more models being brought in next year!!!

Anyway signing off now and Happy Xmas to ye all. (I know its not December yet!!Blah)

Cheers

George

That's great George!

Looks like an interesting meeting - many would have enjoyed the demonstrations. Any chance the guys will give us a posting, showing their tips and techniques? I'd be most interested in the weathering by Steve, and I'm sure that those into modern jets (with their awkward canopies) would find Vinny's most useful too.

The venue looks a bit cramped though - surely you can get Mark to give you a couple of tables you could use!! ;)

Glad you brought the camera, so we could finally all see a Cork meet in action. More please!

Philip

Philip,

Yep its tight but it's free and has a bit of ambience about it, A room was tried but the cost were too much, I have 1 table give to me by Mark and it does the job Nicely as other areas are cleared. I could do with a few more chairs though but if it is to be held somewhere else then it needs to be discuessed with the lads but from the feedback its ok for now.

cheers

LOL!!!!! Ya Censored ! When I said I didn't want any photos of me on t'interweb that included photos of me with a big fuzzy blob as a head. Ah well, I can live with it.

Continued on with the meeting with JQ in BK until 22:50 as we planned some builds... Whistle

You forgot to mention the discussion we had about the all new category for the Nationals. Your genius idea that we brainstormed at D1 in September. I think Roy is going to throw it out there on the forum soon anyway. Jim took a nice photo for advertising it too Fight

Good meeting lads!

Vinny

Sorry Philip, you'll just have to come to Cork to attend one of our meetings..... the only way to get the flavour of De Reel Capital....Super

Vinny, that new category will be discussed with the incoming Competition Secretary at the appropriate time!Yahoo! It will bring a whole new dimension to the show...ROFL

George, thanks for the pics, and on behalf of the Cork IPMS thanks again for supplying the venue for 2011, we couldn't have done it without you.
Love the captions BTW..... My nails are fine thank you.... Will see you before Santa arrives hopefully....

Cheers again,

Roy
