While trying to make sense of my work space I found a pack of "Sculpey" modelling clay and broke it open and look what emerged.

Sculpey is a good medium to work with- it's very waxy and remains soft till hardened in a conventional oven at a low temp for 10 mins. I got my pack from RPM sculpture supplies in Ballymount- they also have a shop in Dublin city centre (located downstairs)Babydoll Boutique 3 Crow Street, Templebar .

When I'm satisfied with the final sculpt I'm going to try making a mould and casting a few of these in resin so I'll be looking for advice on that

Absolutely brilliant.

I wonder would anyone be able to make a mould out of it and cast it in resin? We can start some cash flow into IPMS pocket, other than membership fees, by selling this and similar products. I have some others in mind too.

Committee, anyone?

Fantastic work, you could give Games Workshop sculptors a run for their money.

Outstanding sculpting skills! You should be working for Wingnut on the new Hobbit movie (can't wait for that!!)

Well done!

Added some bulk to the shoulders and worked on the skin texture and ears.

It got through the oven baking without any mishaps.

Amazing the little flaws you see when you put a coat of primer on -lots of tool and finger marks to get rid of

Okay I used some real copper and Steel sheet for the armour- not 100% happy with it- it doesn't look real d'oh! - have to find some good patinas to treat it with. The spikes are from Milliput

I just put a green wash on the figure to see how it looked-that's not the finished paint job :)

Pat,
I congratulate you on this one, personally I would find looking at "him" a bit off-putting!

Wonder how you plan to paint the eyes?
