No Progress this week as I have been working late all week. Hope to get my desk back from the evil clutches of the dreaded spread sheets. Quote: That's neat, It will be in carbon fibre decal, I pressume?Filip Hi Filip, I'm going to try and spray the CF effect on this. I still have not plucked up the courage to cut the kit one off yet, so if I mess up I can still use the kit part and decals supplied. James

Update time. This is where I'm at the moment Sprockets from scalemotorsport.com. One problem with these is the lack of instructions. Next up - the engine with a coat of Alclad. And lastly This was done earlier this week, I was trying out the carbon fibre effect. Not bad for a first attempt. if I do say so myself. The finished article will be a bit better. James

Those sprockets are neat, should look nice. I've seen that a lot of people are using carbon decals on their models.

Neat carbon fibre effect. Maybe an ink wash over the top will act as a filter and blend the dark/silver in a bit? I've been toying with a similar idea for a silk/lace sleeve on a figurine I'm working on but haven't tried it yet. Good to see how the technique works out.

Nice idea on how to replicate Carbon Fibre but would you not consider buying a sheet of carbon fibre decal and using that instead? I've been looking at a few myself recently and they give an excellent realistic finish. You might want to check out the February edition of Tamiya Model Magazine International as there is a nice build article on these bikes. The guy models three different schemes and uses the carbon fibre decal with fantastic results. I've attached a couple of screenshots I took below. Hi Vinny,
I have the print copy of that mag and it crossed my mind to just get the decals but I wanted to try and learn a new technique with the A/B, sure if it all goes horribly wrong I can strip the parts back and get the decals.
